“Barefoot in the head – The Surprising Story of Balearica”
Listen to Part 1 | Listen to Part 2

Taking it’s name from the classic balearic track by A Man Called Adam, this BBC Radio documentary traces the musical and cultural history of the island of Ibiza from the early fifties through to the end of eighties.

Featuring music by Pink Floyd, The Cure, Herb Alpert, Tramaine, Simple Minds and many others, alongside interviews with Alfredo, Anthony Pike, Nicky Holloway, Nancy Noise, Lisa Loud, Danny Rampling and a majority of the first wave of DJ’s and promoters to visit the island in the mid eighties.

This documentary gives a not often heard insight into the personal memories of those lucky enough to have experienced the balearic magic right from the beginning and there are some great stories from all involved that help you understand why it has become the legendary cultural mecca that it has.

Have a listen for yourselves and enjoy!

Hey, great documentary!.
I’m going crazy trying to find the track title of the song after the Joni Mitchell track… (Pt 1)
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Would be much appreciated.
Cheers
